5 Unique Relationship Check-In Questions To Reignite Your Marriage
As I am writing this, spring is in the air, and I don’t know about you, but it makes me want to throw away all the junk in my house and scrub the baseboards till they sparkle! It’s also a good time to try to find and get rid of all the junk in your relationship. And relationship check-in questions are a helpful and simple way to do this.
When a marriage goes unexamined, little bad habits or negative thoughts about your partner might add up and creep into your day-to-day routine and impact the overall health of your relationship.
So, let’s take advantage of the spring-cleaning energy, and apply it to your marriage.
Here are some relationship check-in questions to consider when clearing out the junk in your marriage:
- When did our marriage feel like it was its best? What were we doing to make it so good? Am I doing those things now?
- What are my thoughts about my partner? Negative, positive, or neutral? What can I do to have more positive thoughts about them?
- Are we going on regular dates? If not why? What do we need to do to prioritize spending quality time together?
- When was the last time I expressed gratitude to my partner? Is this part of my daily routine? What are the things I appreciate about my partner?
- What am I doing to take care of myself so I can show up as the best version of myself in my relationship? Does my partner get the best of me or the scraps after I have taken care of everyone else?
I would suggest taking some quiet time to talk about these relationship check-in questions with your partner, or journal about them on your own and make an actionable plan to get rid of the junk and breathe some clean & fresh air into your relationship.
If you feel overwhelmed with everything you want to change after doing this activity, that is a sign you might need some extra help. And I am here for you if that’s what you need!
